On Saturday the 12th of April we hosted a Middle Earth Battle Strategy Game tournament at the SWS club house. We had 10 fantastic players battle it out through three randomly selected scenarios: Destroy the Supplies, Fog of War, and Reconnoitre.
We were lucky to have 10 unique armies (the 500-point MESBG meta is currently overwhelmed by Eagles) and 10 fantastic players who gave their all with victories, defeats, draws, and lots of fun!
The winner was new club member and first-time tournament player Jake with his Lurtz’s Scouts list! And runner up was another new member, and I believe first time tournament player Ian with his Eagles! Two new members, smashing it on their first tournament. Our next Tournament is July 27th with the event TBC – watch this space – but the theme will be Dragon Sickness and the points will be 700. Hopefully we will have the new scenarios by then too!

We have an avid and growing MESBG community at SWS and you are bound to find a fun game with good people who are more than happy to take you through the rules! The tournaments we run are casual but give you a flavour of what the ranked tournaments feel like. We also have a club team for the Great British Hobbit League, who knows where we will get to next!
