Using the Undaunted boardgame, we simulated a couple of the LRDG missions in North Africa. First off was a demolition mission on the unsuspecting Italians and their airfield. Rob Marsden led his troops on a total wrecking spree, yet the game was still in the balance right up to the end.
And so, to round 2. This time Marsden was the Italians and he now has a little tank with which to wreak some havoc. Sadly, his tank got the focussed attention of the LRDG and was taken out of action. Sadly for the LRDG, their focus should have been elsewhere as victory was snatched from under their noses.
A great game and easy to learn and play. The dice gods still have a major input but not so much that it overpowers the game.
Would play again. Especially as the Battle of Britain version hits my postbox in a week or two.
Thank you Andrew Rawlings for the company and showing me and Greg the world of 40k tonight. A great game and congrats Greg on achieving your objective on the final turn. I learnt a lot tonight, especially how nasty toads can be
